Client Spotlight, Lake Junaluska Assembly
LAKE JUNALUSKA ASSEMBLY
This month’s newsletter features one of our longstanding valued clients, Lake Junaluska Assembly (LJA). Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina near the Towns of Waynesville and Maggie Valley, 25 miles west of Asheville, LJA is home to the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, as well as a vibrant residential community of approximately 850 homes. LJA has served as a place of relaxation, recreation and renewal for over 100 years.
“The mission of Lake Junaluska is to be a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through renewal of the soul, mind and body. The hospitality is provided to all persons without discrimination.”
Lake Junaluska is a place to recharge, renew and enjoy a personal getaway or family vacation. Facilities are available to host your next conference, wedding, reunion or other gathering. Guests can stay at the Terrace Hotel, historic Lambuth Inn or a vacation rental. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful walk on the lakeside trail, beautiful gardens, lake cruises, wildlife viewing, panoramic vistas, and a recreation area, swimming pool, golf course, and gift and coffee shop.
Assembly Public Works (APW), maintains the critical infrastructure of the Lake Junaluska community. Besides serving as the water and sewer utility, APW also provides solid waste disposal, street maintenance, stormwater management, security service, and oversees property sales and new construction within LJA.
JMTE has a history of providing on-call services to LJA, including speed studies, intersection analysis, traffic calming, sign assessments, parking and pedestrian safety, and communication and coordination with NCDOT. Serving as a trusted advisor to the community is at the heart of everything we do for this very special and scenic place.

As an NCDOT Certified Work Zone Supervisor, she is safety-focused and detail-oriented, and her education in Low Impact Development plays a part in every project she touches.
Outside of her professional life, you will find her engrossed in a good book, accompanied by her wife and beloved dogs, quilting, or tending to her backyard beehives.
