  • Strategic Prioritization 7.0 (P7.0)

The current cycle to update the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for 2026–2035 began in summer 2023. This data-driven process involves gathering public input on projects, which are then evaluated and scored.

  • Transportation Engineering Associates (TEA) Program

This program is a starting point for recent graduates who are passionate about transportation and public service. It offers a broad background in highway engineering, practical application, business-driven assignments, and opportunities to develop leadership and innovation skills. The program includes headquarters and field experience, rotating to different units, access to the NCDOT Learning Management System, and more.

  • Technical Training Series

This series offers small highway construction companies the opportunity to learn about specifications, equipment requirements, bidding and estimating, project management, and more. The series includes hands-on opportunities and sessions around the state.
